Wireless Internet Providers - Who is Best?

So you want to get wireless internet for your laptop, but you're not sure what you're options are huh? This short article will help you to choose the best mobile internet provider based on your circumstances. There a few criteria you should consider when choosing a mobile internet provider to receive wireless internet for laptops. They are:

Monthly Rate: Wireless internet for laptops is generally a little more expensive than internet for your home. A mobile internet provider generally charges $45-80 a month for their service with $60 a month being average.

-Lowest Cost Provider: CLEAR Wireless 4G, Cricket Wireless 3G ($45/month)
-Highest Cost Provider: Sprint Wireless 3G/4G, CLEAR Wireless 3G/4G, Qwest Wireless ($80/month)

Contract: Wireless internet providers generally require a 2 year contract. There are some however that do not require 2 year contracts and offer a month-to-month agreement option. Generally the cell phone companies will require 2 year contracts.

-Companies that Offer Monthly Agreements: CLEAR Wireless and Cricket Wireless
-Companies that Require 2 Year Contracts: Verizon, Qwest, AT&T, and Sprint

Download Speed: There is a large variance in download speeds amongst mobile internet providers. The slowest provider, Cricket Wireless, provides download speeds of 0.5-1.5 Mbps. The cell phone companies (Verizon, Qwest, Sprint 3G, and T-Mobile) offer wireless internet speeds of 0.5-2.0 Mbps. CLEAR Wireless offers mobile internet speeds of 2.5-10 Mbps. The reason for the great difference in download speeds is that CLEAR and Sprint operate a 4G wireless broadband network, whereas Cricket and the other cell phone providers use a 3G network.

-Slowest Download Speeds: Cricket Wireless, Qwest Wireless
-Fastest Download Speeds: CLEAR Wireless and Sprint Wireless (4G)

Coverage: There are differences in mobile internet coverage amongst the wireless internet providers also. 4G wireless networks have not been built nationwide yet so its coverage is somewhat limited. Currently 4G is available in over 25+ metropolitan areas nationwide (as of Jan 2010). Some of the larger city areas with coverage include Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Baltimore and Chicago. Because of this limited coverage, 4G coverage with CLEAR and Sprint are only offered in certain areas. By the end of 2010 however, 4G will be available in 80+ cities. 3G on the other hand is available pretty much nationwide, although it is somewhat limited for rural coverage.

-3G Coverage Only: Verizon, Qwest, T-Mobile
-4G Only Option: CLEAR Wireless
-Both 3G and 4G: CLEAR Wireless and Sprint Wireless

As you have probably now gathered, you have lots of options when it comes to mobile internet for laptops. What wireless internet provider you decide on will probably depend on the preceding criteria I have discussed. I hope that this article helps you to make an informed decision in choosing your wireless internet provider. If you require further assistance, please check out my resource box and website below.

Occupational Therapy Online Schools

Online Occupational Therapy School certificate and associate degree programs train students for licensed occupational therapy (OT) aides, occupational therapy technicians, and occupational therapy assistants. These occupational therapy personnel support the work of degreed occupational therapists. Bachelor and master degree OT courses are also presented through online and distance learning, with some courses required in classroom studies for degree completion.

When searching options for occupational therapy certificates and associate degrees, be careful to find an accredited Online Occupational Therapy School. There are schools not accredited by appropriate states and organizations. Education from these non-accredited institutions may not be acceptable to all employment.

Courses in accredited OT schools for certificate and associate degrees in occupational therapy should include human anatomy, biology, medical terminology, social and behavioral sciences, and other subjects related to the field of occupational therapy.

OT students will learn to assist clients in relearning simple activities of feeding, dressing, bathing, and grooming oneself; training for modifying behavior; and possibly teaching computer use as occupational therapy technicians. Prospective occupational therapy aides will use physical exercise to increase client strength, mobility, and dexterity. Occupational therapy assistants will also record and evaluate the activities and progress of clients.

Many online occupational therapy programs of study are available at the master degree level. Online master level OT programs are geared toward meeting the needs of practicing clinicians who wish to improve and advance their skills and knowledge. Courses may address concepts and principles of anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, and kinesiology, as well as various therapeutic techniques and methods. Master level occupational therapy students can also expect to study current theory, research, and knowledge of health and social service systems for the development of innovative and effective intervention and service programs.

The majority of the post-professional OT courses conducted online require students to attend limited on-campus studies. Depending on the program and the focus of study, some programs do allow students to complete the entire occupational therapy master degree from the home computer.

Courses for master degree studies in online OT include theory and practice of occupational therapy, human adaptation, research skills for contemporary practice and scholarly inquiry, and methods of analysis.

Master level students in occupational therapy may choose to complete a certificate for specializations in advanced pediatrics, advanced hand therapy, upper extremity rehabilitation, adult rehabilitation, and behavior disorders. These OT programs require on-campus study as well.

The Real Role Of A Team Leader

Team leaders play a very important role in the development and encouragement of a team. It is their job not only to ensure that the standards of their team are high and the tasks that have been assigned are being done, but also to ensure that the team spirit and morale of their team is kept.

Some of the main characteristics of a team leader are:

1: They need to have the ability to inspire a team.

2: They should be responsible and dependable.

3: It is very important that a team leader can recognize and acknowledge the contributions and ideas of their team members.

4: That they can celebrate the accomplishments of their team.

Here are some tips on how to be a good team leader:

1: Provide team leadership and coaching. It is important that you set a good example to your team. For example, try not to arrive late or leave early while you are working. You should always try to encourage the group through dexterity and constant improvement in their work. And always try to recognize the accomplishments and performances of the team.

2: Try to ensure that your criticism is constructive. When you are reporting back to a person in authority, try to highlight the good points as well as the bad points. If you only convey the bad points it may also reflect badly on you. Try to supply distinct suggestions on how to solve these problems that have lead to bad performances.

3: If you are positive, then this enthusiasm will give your team a lot of encouragement. Motivation is a very important characteristic of a team leader. If your team is at a low point, try to motivate them by eg. Having a meeting and discussing what the problem may be or by running small competitions among the team. Setting targets and having prizes for the winners can be an excellent form of encouragement. You should always listen to what your team has to say and by having a meeting every now and then you can take in their ideas-they may even have better ideas than yourself! It is very important to value these ideas.

4: Try to train your team without actually doing the task at hand yourself. If you constantly do the job for the team member they will find it very hard to learn and they may become dependent on you. It can also hinder a team members confidence and skills.

5: A team leader needs to be very committed to their job. They may need to work extra hours or be available at short notice. They have to be committed to their team and ensure that the standards of performance are kept at a high level.

There are many ways that a team leader can kill team spirit. Here are a few examples:

- If you are critical of your team it may discourage your team members and thus cause tension. This in turn will drain your team.

- You should never talk about team members behind their backs. This may cause them to distrust you and it could also form a barrier between you and your team.

- You should not speak unfairly or badly about people in authority. Not only does it reflect badly on yourself but it could also cause you to lose your job.

- It is important that you try to get to know all of your team members. You will be highly valued by your team if you show that you are interested in what they have to say. If you fail to get to know members of the team it may make them feel that their hard work is not appreciated.

- And finally, never make others look bad. You should always take the blame for your own mistakes. If you leave it for your team members to pick up after you, it only reflects badly on yourself. It may be the easy way out to blame others but always remember that to build a barrier between yourself and your team is only killing the team spirit which is crucial if you want your tea to perform well.

It may take some time for you to build up a strong team but never give up. If you act as a good team leader, your team will eventually be there for you through the good times during your career and also the bad.

Start a Flea Market Business

So you just gotta have a storefront business.

Why not start a flea market business?

Flea markets are entrepreneurial hotspots. You could most likely do some market research into what people want to buy and what they are buying at your local flea market.

Over 500,000 vendors sell from America's 5,000 flea markets. There are 150,000,000 people who shop at flea markets annually.

Here are the reasons you may want to open your start a flea market business before starting a traditional business, taking the plunge and signing a long term building lease.

a. Flea markets offer a low cost entry into business

Get your sales tax license and a county business license and you are virtually ready to go. You can rent a booth for a day, a weekend or by the month. If it doesn't work out, you're out of there without losing thousands.

b. Flea markets are great for part time entrepreneurs.

You may be holding down a part or full time job and need the income. No problem. Start a flea market business on the weekend or work the flea market daytime and work a job nighttime.

c. Flea markets are a great place to liquidate merchandise.

Let's say you have a great source of slightly blemished goods at a cheap price. The flea market may be just the place to liquidate them.

d. The flea market may become your full time business.

Many an entrepreneur decided to try something new and liked the flea market so well that they just stayed there and never move on to a storefront elsewhere.

e. Flea markets are great for niche marketers.

Let's say you just want to sell something like pickles, handmade pretzels, dog collars, or a specialized clothing. It may be hard to build a storefront around a niche. With the flea market traffic that is already there it could work.

f. Start with virtually no advertising.

Just business cards and maybe flyers and you are ready to go. The flea market has already advertised so you have immediate traffic. Now just be friendly and engage the customers and let's make some sales.

g. Start with very little capital.

Flea markets allow someone with just a trunkload of merchandise to get started. I have a good friend who went to prison due to a partnership dispute. When he reentered society he had next to nothing. With a small purchase of liquidated goods he was able to build larger every week with his profits. Today he has a large flea market business and also wholesales to other dealers.

h. Give yourself a plan B.

Start a flea market Business.

I have a relative whose wife has a good job and expects a good retirement. In today's market, even her government job is at risk. She started her own jewelry business as a hedge against a possible layoff. She works flea markets, small shows and eBay to build her business, which was started with minimal outlay of funds.

i. Start with minimal business fixtures.

Usually just a table, a couple chairs and possibly some display racks and you have all you need to display your goods at the flea market. You can continue to improve things as you build your business from week to week.

j. A good add on for the Home Business Entrepreneur.

Some of us don't like to be tied down to a regular work week. Most flea markets offer all kinds of different business models. Some are only open weekends and others offer the option to have a storefront open a full work week. Some entrepreneurs like to have their schedule flexible. This is harder to do in a traditional brick and mortar business without hiring employees.

So what do you do to get ready?

First, visit the flea market you may want to sell at.

Talk to the vendors. Check out the traffic. Check out the cost of a booth. Some flea markets are online and you can do much of your research ahead of time.

Get your licenses. If you're not sure what you need ask some of the vendors at the market. They will know, as most of them will have the licenses.

Get your tables, chairs, merchandise, price labels, snacks, cooler for drinks and so on ready ahead of time. Get some ones, fives and change. You can use a cash bag, a nail belt, fanny pack or a cash register to keep a control on the cash.

Get a good nights sleep and get to the flea market early to set up. That way you'll have time to make a quick run back if you forgot something or have a snag setting up.

Good luck as you Start a Flea Market Business.

Career Change Ideas - 7 Ways to Find Out What You Really Want to Do

You know, it is the lack of career change ideas that seems to keep many would-be career changers stuck.

One of the things that clients often say to me is:

I know I want to change careers, to do something different, but I just don't know what I want to do instead.

The problem is they are stuck in a habitual pattern of boxed-in thinking that prevents them from seeing the wealth of possibilities that are out there.

Would you like some tips to help you get out of that place and to help you to generate a range of new career ideas to explore? Then read on.

Tip 1 - Forget job titles
Job titles really inhibit your thinking. If I asked you to list all the jobs you could think of, you might come up with a couple of hundred before you ran dry. In reality there are thousands of jobs out there that you would never identify under your own steam, so forget the job title and focus instead on the key themes that are important for you in a job. What do you want your dream job to involve?

Tip 2 - List what you don't want to do
This is often quite easy to do if you are in a job you hate and it can be a very useful exercise. It helps you to focus on the aspects of a job that really drive you nuts and then also identify those that are annoying in your current job but actually you'd be prepared to put up with to some degree in a different situation. When you identify something as a no-no, ask if it would always be no under all circumstances. This will help you to avoid rejecting jobs in a knee-jerk way because they share similarities with your current role.

Tip 3 - List what you think you should want to do
What do you think your career should look like? What pressure are you putting on yourself to confirm to certain benchmarks (eg I must be earning a certain salary, I should be in a professional role, it must be something that other people will respect and admire me for). Just check with yourself whose rules you are following here. Who exactly says that your career must look like this? Is this really what you want or what other people say you should aspire to?

Tip 4 - List what you would do if anything were possible
Yes, you are allowed to take the brakes off here and create a big dream. Forget the constraints you put on yourself, wherever they come from. If your fairy godmother arrived to take you to the ball, what job or career would you ask her to line up for you as part of the deal?

Tip 5 - List what you would do if you gave yourself permission to say that you want it
So often, we limit the possibilities in our lives because we just don't allow ourselves to want something. Maybe you want to earn lots of money - but that seems too greedy. Maybe you want to have an easy, quiet job - but that seems too lazy. Maybe you want to set up your own business - but you can't because you have to think about so many other people in your life first. What do you need to give yourself permission to want to do?

Tip 6 - Reinvent yourself
If you could rewind the tape on your life and re-run it, what would you do? If you could dump all the stuff, the rules, the history that you have gathered on your journey through life to this point and travel light without the baggage, where would your journey take you? What would the new you look like and what work would this new person be doing? What does this tell you about what would really inspire you?

Tip 7 - Think big and think small
Your new career does not have to be something world changing and grand. If you want to change the world, great! Go ahead and build your new career around this big vision. But if you feel drawn to operating on a more local scale, that's fine too. Small changes can be just as transforming for your career and your life as big ones, so don't be fooled into thinking that bigger is necessarily better. Career change success is about finding what feels right for you.

So take some time to think about your career change with these 7 tips in mind - and by time I mean days, weeks, maybe even months if necessary. Changing career is a big step, so allow yourself the time and space to really think it through.

And while these tips are beginning to free up your thinking about new career possibilities, I invite you to take a look around the How To Change Careers website where you will find a host of career change ideas to get you moving, and you can also download my free Career Change Blueprint http://www.how-to-change-careers.com/career-change-blueprint.html - a step-by-step guide to career change success.
